Ink Monkey is independently run by a family that has worked in creative print solutions for over 40 years.

Starting out printing for large, established national retail customers, the business moved into large format banners as Smart Profiles in the early 1990s. Current managing director Lucas was fitting products at weekends in Asda and Marks & Spencer, straight after leaving school.

The business pioneered the use of large format in a retail environment, to reduce the need for excess shop floor stock by using large graphical installations to showcase products instead. There was also a need for traditionally floppy temporary graphics to look much more professional.

Lucas and brother Henry both entered the business at 16 years old, taking on roles in production, fitting and commercial communications.

Printing began to change in the 2010’s as machines cheapened and the market moved to put a premium on the inks.

We continue to make significant investments into our plant portfolio which at present consists of Kongsberg C64, VuteGS3200, HP Latex 360, Salmatell Mounting Equipment, computerised letter bending along with procision laser welding. We have just installed Leeds first brand new 5-metre printer, capable of printing both roll to roll and large format rigid sub-straights. This enhances our ability to achieve photorealistic quality without compromise at all times.

Across our range we have eight-colour, plus white and Fast-5m printing @ 2400dpi for super high production speeds. Clients can also order print direct to rigid and flexible substrates making for an incredibly diverse range of options.

As you can see we can now accommodate any size up to 5-metres wide, on a line that will be unique in the UK. More on that to follow when we’re fully commissioned

We pride ourselves on providing a creative, printing and installation service. It’s a service that you can rely on. Right from the outset we take the time to understand your needs, taking a consultative approach to ensuring you get the most appropriate, professional and striking solution available.
